What Is Spirituality and Spiritual Practice?

Spirituality is the dimension of our humanity that holds core needs shared by all humans: connection, belonging, self-worth, hope, peace, meaning, love, and forgiveness. Spiritual practice is how we tend to those needs. It can transform what feels lost into what’s found. This Illuminatiion process helps deepen awareness and allows you to see the world—and yourself—with fresh perspective. This kind of practice connects you to something beyond yourself, offering a gentle reminder: “I will be guided, even when I feel uncertain or lost.”

Spiritual practice is connection, expression, and experience.

And it can take countless forms. Perhaps it is:

  • stirring an intention into your coffee each morning
  • a daily dog walk that becomes a moving meditation
  • a heartfelt act of kindness
  • seeing the efforts of another and saying "thank you"
  • giving gratitude for food
  • time in the woods
  • watching a plant grow in the garden as the Summer ripens
  • letting your spirit speak through journaling or art
  • making music
  • or gathering with friends.

Spiritual practice is about showing up and making space for the mysteries of life to find you.
